A few weeks ago, we came across a simple timed multiplication drill for students of different abilities where each student works on a specific fact family as needed. In this case, our eleven-year-old practiced his x 12 facts (pictured above) while our 8-year-old practiced his x 2 facts. Both filled in the left side of the paper with the fact they were practicing.
On the whiteboard, I randomly wrote down numbers from 1 to 12, which they then copied into the second column on their sheet of paper.
I set the timer, and then… Ready, Set Go!!
There you have it: a quick and simple method of drilling multiple students on the facts they need to practice most.
