That right there is a poor excuse for a garden.
Really, it’s a big bunch of dilapidated vegetable plants….
We have a variety of heirloom beans (complete with hole-y leaves),
our one squash plant that still strives to give us a few squash per week,
our tomatoes, (which brings me to the point of asking, “How are tomatoes even on this thing? Where are the leaves? Maybe those crazy hornworms succeeded after all.)
and our potato patch…
Lovely. Our garden looked much better about a month ago, but we sort of let it go, and nature did its work.
After putting forth so much effort (well, not really, but at least we invested the associated costs of a tiller and other big-man tinker-toys that my husband had to have)…
is it not amusing that when my husband shot a watermelon off the fence post two years ago….
… that a watermelon patch grew, all on its own? (without any time or monetary investment on our part.)
I wonder what our harvest would look like if we just shot all the vegetables off the fence post? What do you think? Should we try some more target practice when he returns from Brazil?
