After observing our oldest son’s efforts at using the planner pages provided in the Classical Conversations Challenge Guide, I’ve finally decided to design a page that’s better-suited to our needs and preferences. Alas! He now has a planner page which provides a place to record family activities and to-do lists, along with assignments for the six strands (for our four at-home days) with the days listed along the top (instead of down the side).
As in the case of our Foundations planners {for Cycle 1, Cycle 2, or Cycle 3}, I kept modifying the page until I narrowed it down to what works best for us. And… just in case anyone else would like to use any of these…. they are available for you to download for free! For all three versions, we’ve included two options – a planner page for a 4-day week and a planner page for a 5-day week. Just click on the text links below to download the PDF of the version/option you prefer!

Challenge A-IV Planner Pages – Version 1: 4-Day Week | 5-Day Week. Includes a section at the top of the page for “This Week’s Goals & Notes,” along with a “Reading or Other Activities” section below the six strands. After trying this one, we decided to eliminate some of the space he wasn’t using, which led us to…
Challenge A-IV Planner Pages – Version 2: 4-Day Week | 5-Day Week. This planner page combines the two sections listed in version 1. (Our oldest just really doesn’t need a lot of places to write much other than his assignments). This makes more space for jotting down assignments.
Challenge A-IV Planner Pages – Version 3: 4-Day Week | 5-Day Week. Black & White Printer-Friendly version of the planner. This is the version he’s using now.
The only difference between each Challenge level is the description of the strands, which can be found in the Classical Conversations Catalog. If you have any questions about the Challenge program (up through Challenge I, anyway), feel free to give me a shout! I’d love to hear from you.
Happy planning!
