The students in our homeschool group are creating artistic representations of one week of our geography memory work for display during our awards ceremony. Stephen chose to paint a Monet-style watercolor of southeastern Asia because his daddy works in South Korea.
Stephen drew his map free-hand, and it was a bit challenging because Guam is included in the Week 19 memory work. It’s really far over there, so we had a bunch of blue watercoloring to do. Not only that, but the Philippines make up an archipelago containing over 7,000 islands.
Because he likes to learn about each country’s flag, we also printed miniature copies of the coloring pages from crayola.com and added them to the map.
David decided to use the techniques of Morisot by mixing baking soda with his paints to create a painting of the Mid-Atlantic World (Week 8).
