Using some of my thoughts surrounding a lack of organization that we happened to fall into at the end of last year, we entered a contest that I did not originally plan to enter. And it just so happens that we are now semi-finalists for a contest I did not originally plan to enter:
The Simple Homeschool’s Classroom Contest
|
Again, this really was NOT something I was planning to enter, but Stephen walked up when I was checking my email,. When he read that the contest was ending TODAY (which was August 31 at the time), he went a little nuts. Evidently, he’s been missing his “deadlines” this summer and decided it was ABSOLUTELY IMPERATIVE that I sign us up for this. He didn’t even know what we would win, but it was a deadline and we HAD to meet it.
Entering this contest did not come without a large amount of embarrassment on my part, though, but I thought:
Maybe, just maybe, others will be encouraged by this as they realize that their classrooms aren’t all that bad after all.
So, if you HONESTLY THINK that we would benefit from an on-line classroom, and you HONESTLY THINK our entry is the best under the category “Want an on-line classroom” (aka, “worst” classroom), then please feel free to vote for us by clicking here: The Simple Homeschool’s Classroom Contest, and scrolling down to the Haphazard Homeschool at Half-a-Hundred Acre Wood. It’s easy to find – just scroll down until you see the photos that make you want to run away screaming. There should be a thumbs up sign where the “+7” is on this screenshot:
But if you think someone else “needs an online classroom” more than we do, I want you to vote for them. Really! And don’t forget to vote for the “best classroom.” Some of these are just so wonderfully organized! And, oh, how I long to be organized!!!!
Before we close out this post, we want you to know that we don’t actually conduct our homeschool in this room. This is what it looked like at the END of last year after we moved everything out of the house and back into the “classroom area.” I have been working on CLEARING THE CHAOS this summer, and we are ALMOST THERE. I’ll be sure to post an update when we finally arrive at an orderly state.
