Advertising, Sponsorship, and Affiliate Links
Half-a-Hundred Acre Wood abides by word of mouth marketing standards. I believe in honesty of relationship, opinion, and identity. I may accept compensation to provide my opinion on products, services, websites, and other topics. Even though I receive compensation for sponsored posts or advertisements, I always give our honest opinions, findings, beliefs, or experiences on those topics or products. At my discretion, I may post about products or services of paid advertisers or affiliates. Again, any such content will contain only my honest thoughts and experience. I may accept payment for blog posts, which will be clearly identified as paid or sponsored content. The views and opinions expressed on Half-a-Hundred Acre Wood are purely my own.
I maintain affiliate relationships with several companies offering products that our family has found useful and worthy of promoting. As part of this affiliate relationship, I receive a commission on any sales generated through affiliate links. The money received from affiliate links does not cost you anything but helps to offset the costs and time investment associated with running this website. Vendors with whom I have an affiliate relationship include Amazon, Compass Classroom, IEW, Christian Book Distributors, All About Learning and Homeschool in the Woods.
Blog posts containing affiliate links will be identified with a disclosure at the top of and/or within the body of the post. The opinions expressed in such blog posts are purely my own.
Reviews
When I write reviews, I usually receive the product for free. However, any reviews and information I share is based on our own personal use of the product and not from the company being reviewed. Reviews may include affiliate links to vendors whose products our family has used and can wholeheartedly recommend to others. As part of this affiliate relationship, I receive a commission on the sales generated through click-throughs of affiliate links. Blog posts containing affiliate links will be identified with a disclosure statement within the post.
You will find three types of reviews on this blog:
Compensated Reviews: I have received, at no cost to me, personal use of the product, service, or website being reviewed for the purpose of evaluation or review. I have also received monetary compensation for the time invested in evaluating the product and writing the review. Compensated reviews will be clearly identified.
Non-Compensated Reviews: I have received, at no cost to me, personal use of the product, service, or website being reviewed for the purpose of evaluation or review. I am not compensated monetarily to provide opinion on products, services, websites and various other topics.
Personal Reviews: I have received neither financial compensation nor free use of the product or service. Personal reviews are for products and/or services that my family has purchased for our own use.
Regardless of whether a review is compensated, non-compensated, or personal, I always give my honest opinions and experiences. I am never required to give a positive review of any product, service or website.
The views and opinions expressed on Half-a-Hundred Acre Wood are purely my own. I only endorse products or services that I believe are worthy of my family’s endorsement. I do not claim to be an expert on any certain topics or products or service areas. Any product claim, statistic, quote or other representation about a product or service should be verified with the manufacturer or provider.
It is important to me that you know I would never be dishonest to make money. My family and my readers are important to me, and I strive to adhere to the utmost integrity on this website. Your trust is extremely important to me, and I do not ever want to do anything that would work against that trust.
Background: Our Story
Because our family was in a fortunate and blessed position to not need the extra income from any of my creations when we started this blog, we decided as a family to offer our resources and printables as a ministry to other homeschooling families. Supporting other families in their homeschooling endeavors has been one of the most special ministries God has ever given me. It has given me great joy to share my work and to make this small offering of myself… all for the Glory of God.
As time progressed, this site grew beyond what I ever thought it would. In the process of creating printables and blogging, I placed an incredible amount of time and effort into this website. There are several costs associated with running this website: software, server & hosting fees, and technical support, to name a few. Because these are expenses that we incurred as a result of sharing resources, we started accepting sponsorships, advertising, and affiliate commissions from some of the companies whose products we use and love. The money we receive from affiliate links does not cost you anything but helps to offset the costs associated with running this website.
Our family was hoping to use these forms of compensation to fulfill this dream I had for our family to be together throughout the year. Before our plan could be fulfilled in the way we had hoped, my husband lost his job. At that point, we decided to use our website as a way to continue with fulfilling our dream of being together as we started a family business. Through your support, the blog, Half-a-Hundred Acre Wood is now a thriving business. If you use our affiliate links or purchase our products, we cannot thank you enough for helping our dream to come true.
We invest much of what we have made on this blog into charities. For those who use our affiliate links, thank you. We would like you to read about what you’ve made possible.
