One of my absolute favorite resources is an entire elementary life science curriculum provided as a free pdf download at Mr. Q’s Science website. We really enjoy Mr. Q’s silly way of explaining science and have even purchased some of his other books! We will be completing readings, worksheet activities, and experiments from Units 6 through 9 of the completely free (and fun!) Classic Science Elementary Life Science Curriculum. This book also contains lessons that can be correlated to Cycle 1 (Classification of living things) & 2 (Ecology), as well. We liked the approach of this curriculum so much when we completed Metric Olympics & Egg Experiments last year that we purchased the Chemistry book to use later this year (download a sample of Elementary Chemistry here.) Mr. Q also provides labnotes that contain science experiments, though all of these are included in the parent/teacher manual of this book. This is well worth the download! (Be sure to grab both the Student manual and the Teacher manual.) Pictured below: Elementary Life Science Curriculum Table of Contents for Human Body

For animated videos and activities on the organs in the Human Body, visit How the Body Works from Kidshealth.org. (My 5-year-old loves this!)
-
From Schoolhouse Rock, we have The Body Machine, Do the Circulation, Them Not-so-Dry Bones, and Telegraph Line (nervous system).
-
Create a lapbook about The Human Body or complete the My Body Unit Study from Homeschoolshare
-
Create a Life-sized paper skeleton when studying the axial skeleton.
-
Crayola.com also has the following Human Body Coloring Pages: Human cell, Human Eye, Human Heart, Human Organs and Human Skeleton.

Ellen J McHenry has boatloads of downloadable games across many subjects. For Anatomy, download a free copy of Body Bingo, Ectomy (a game about the brain), or the Circulation Game. You can even make a brain hat using her downloadable template. (My boys are going to go crazy over that one!) For Middle Schoolers or advanced elementary students, she offers a downloadable workbook called the Guide to the Human Machine.

Play a simple game offered by the BBC.
Chemistry Resources:
- The Golden Book of Chemistry Experiments by Robert Brent contains over 200 simple science experiments that you can do at home. It includes a basic introduction to the science and history of chemistry along with illustrations.
- Homeschoolshare’s Multi-Age Chemistry Unit Lap-n-Note
- Download the Periodic Table in Pictures from Keith’s Thinkzone, a resource that contains all sorts of neat puzzles and other resources for science, math, history, geography, art & music.
- This Interactive Periodic Table really helps to understand the layout of the Elements and provides some other information as well. For videos about each element, visit Periodic Videos. An advanced Photographic Periodic Table interactive provides details that older students may like to see. And this Periodic Table of ComicBooks my spark interest in the superhero/comic book enthusiasts!
- Again, Ellen J McHenry provides this homemade board game to help in learning the arrangement of the elements and the idea of valence. Another game, Element Connections (recommended for ages 9-14), is also offered on this site, as well as a game for learning about organic molecules here. Her Quick Six Game uses element flashcards that even by themselves are great!
- Try on-line games to practice your chemistry at Jefferson Lab (which includes Element flash cards, an Element Math Game, an Element Balancing Game, and several others).
