A full year missions-based curriculum with an integrated study of church history, world history, world geography, and missions focusing on the history of Christianity from the early church to modern missions in Europe and Asia.
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” -Matthew 28:18-20 (NKJV)
As we consider the high calling of educating our children, we realize that we’re not just exposing them to unrelated and disjointed facts that have no deeper meaning. We’re teaching our children a worldview – a lens through which they view and interact with the world as a whole. Ultimately, we’re aiming to impart in them a love of Christ, a compassion for fellow man, and a love for God’s Word and the Great Commission.

Introducing… Mission: Faith Forgers
Written for families with students in Grades 2-8 (and beyond), Mission: Faith Forgers is an integrated study of church history, world geography, cultures, religions, and missions through the wonders God has worked from creation (astronomy) through today using people who were willing to follow His call – with a focus on the history of Christianity from the early church to modern missions in Europe and Asia. (To see the first six weeks in action, click here.)
The framework of this study is built upon over 60 unique people and events who have changed the world through their love for Christ and their compassion for fellow man as they’ve taken the Good News of the Gospel to the ends of the earth. These captivating biographies were especially chosen to provide an overview of church history from the early church to modern missions – an account of God’s love and Truth spreading throughout the world through the lives of Christian men and women from the time of the early church through the world conflicts of the 20th century. (Note: Trial and Triumph and God’s Timeline have been written from a Protestant perspective.)
After the first six weeks of early church and Medieval church history, families will also read a chronological study of world history to learn about the story of the world alongside their study of the history of Christianity and how events and people have influenced one another from the time of the reformation to today. Story of the World has been chosen to provide students with a chronological history in an engaging storytelling format. Story of the World Volume 3 begins the study of history in the 1600s, during a time of Protestant rebellions and continues to travel the globe in a study of empires across the world through the mid-1800s. The story is continued in Story of the World Volume 4 as students are introduced to the people, places, and events of modern times, from Queen Victoria’s Empire to the fall of communism in Eastern Europe.
As students learn about historical events and people of the Christian church and the ongoing fulfillment of the Great Commission, they will learn about cultures across the Eurasian continent and how to pray for others around the world while memorizing the countries of Europe and Asia.
To add the beautiful elements of fine arts, we also integrate hymn study and art projects that correlate with the missionary or region studied. To gain an appreciation for classical music, students will learn about the instruments of the orchestra along with Romantic era composers Wagner, Tchaikovsky, Brahms, and Mahler. We also learn large passages of scripture through Bible Readeez.
In this curriculum, we will marvel at the wonders of God’s creation through astronomy and physical science while interweaving apologetics. The core science selection for first semester is Our Universe from God’s Design for Heaven & Earth and, for second semester, Machines & Motion from God’s Design for the Physical World. These science readings are short, interesting, and informative – and they include memorable hands-on activities and scientist biographies that help students to enjoy the process of discovery. (Note: Our Universe addresses issues from both young earth and old earth theories although the material is presented from a young earth perspective. Also note that Our Universe and Machines & Motion are no longer sold as single volumes but are only available as part of the combined volumes God’s Design for Heaven & Earth and God’s Design for the Physical World.)

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:1-2 NKJV)
