Due to requests we’ve received from families who participate in Classical Conversations®, we wanted to take a moment to provide an overview of how our Mission: World Wonders curriculum plan overlaps the content in CC’s science, history, and geography memory work. The Mission: World Wonders curriculum is part of our Mission: Great Commission series, which takes families through a study of the entire world over a three-year period, with…
- Mission: World Wonders exploring ancient to medieval history along with world cultures, religions, and missions (along with fine arts, biology, and earth science),
- Mission: Faith Forgers providing an overview of church history in the midst of world history from the protestant reformation through modern times (along with fine arts, astronomy, and physical science), and
- Mission: Lasting Liberty focusing on the history and geography of the United States of America (along with fine arts, anatomy, and chemistry).
Written for families with students in Grades 2-8, this missions-focused curriculum provides a complete core curriculum for social studies and science while integrating the study of scripture, history, geography, missions, hymns, and fine arts. Although geared towards Grades 2-8, it may be used as a common family morning time for all ages and may be cycled through every three years.
Mission World Wonders corresponds with Cycle 1
Mission: World Wonders is a full year, 36-week missions-focused curriculum arranged according to geographical location (two six-week Africa units, two six-week Asia units, and two six-week Americas units). Although Mission: World Wonders was created as a missionary, geography, history, science, and fine arts curriculum that may be used completely independent of Classical Conversations®, we recognize the desire of some families to correlate their extra studies more closely with the Foundations memory work. As noted in our product descriptions, our curriculum has no references to Classical Conversations® memory work but includes readings that overlap information learned in Classical Conversations® Cycle 1. O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people. Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works. Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord. Seek the Lord, and his strength: seek his face evermore. Remember his marvelous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth; (Psalm 105:1-5 KJV)
