We are rail fanatics. Because we have videos of the Strasburg railroad (among many, many others), we had to stop by Strasburg while we were in the area. Unfortunately, some of the railroad sites were closed (like the National Toy Train Museum), but we did manage to find plenty of places open while we were there!
First stop was the Choo Choo Barn, where we oooo’d and aaahhhh’d over the model train layouts.
Now we have some ideas for our own model train layout (the one that goes around the boys’ rooms).
We took a trip on the Strasburg Railroad…
…and toured the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania. This place had full-sized trains in a warehouse!
It also had a play area with Geotraxx layouts, LEGO train layouts, and model train layouts.
But my favorite part was when the boys attacked me with hugs and kisses. I didn’t even realize my husband had taken this photo until I sorted through dozens of photos of Strasburg. Makes me smile.
And that wraps up Strasburg!
Our family aims to visit all 50 states together before our boys graduate from high school. To take a look at some of the places we’ve been, visit our Traveling America posts. Feel free to leave your comments and suggestions for your favorite state(s), or virtually visit the other states we’ve visited to offer your recommendations on those pages! We’d love to read about your own family’s adventures… or to simply know about destinations you’ve enjoyed!
