As we approach the last quarter of this school year, we will once again be studying the U.S. Presidents. Though this list is definitely not exhaustive, maybe it will be a starting point for anyone looking for something to do as they study the Presidents (or to celebrate Presidents Day!).
Use this song to memorize the U.S. Presidents in order with both their first and last names.
U.S. Presidents – History and/or Writing
- George Washington’s 110 Rules of Civility & Decent Behavior – A free 17-page e-book that includes Washington’s original rules, examples for copywork and memorization, and a writing activity.
- A beautiful assortment of U.S. Presidents notebooking pages
- Memorize the Presidents at Memorize Academy
- Presidents and First Ladies – Field Trip Guide
- Learn about U.S. Elections & Government with this hands-on unit study.
- You can also find quite a bit of information at the US Mint sites for kids and/or educators. (They even provide lessons on National Sites, States, and U.S. History as part of the various coin programs that have been implemented.)
- Baldwin, James. “Four Great Americans” audiobook from Librivox (contains biographies of Washington and Lincoln)
- Our previously created lapbook on Ten Mile Day and the Building of the Transcontinental Railroad (and how Lincoln was involved) at Homeschool Share. We really loved doing this one, and it even has a file folder game to play with it! Check out the other Presidential Lapbooks and Activities!

- Free President cards
- Coloring book with Presidents through the 43rd President provided by TLS Books

U.S. Presidents – Math
- Last year, we prepared a weekly presentation regarding Presidents on coins and bills using info from this webpage about Presidents on U.S. Currency. We also created these Coin President Cards as a visual aid for the presentations.
- Plot this Mystery Graph of Lincoln or Graph Washington Using Cartesian Coordinates at SuperTeacherWorksheets. (These were free at the beginning of this school year but are now only available for free in preview format.)
U.S. Presidents – Timelines
Keeping a visual timeline has been one of our favorite things – so much so that we not only have a Book of Centuries, we also have a separate notebook of Accordion-Style Notebooking Timeline Pages, AND a Timeline Wall.
If you’d like to learn about different types of timelines, how to get started with timelines, or how to set up a timeline, visit our Keeping a Timeline & Timeline Resources post, which is full of ideas, information, clipart, and free printables!
Because of the enormous amount of time it takes for me to research in compiling these link lists, I ask that you do not copy and paste the links in other documents, websites, or emails, but instead send people to this webpage. Thank you for honoring this request!
